Have CHAS increased their prices?

CHAS have a yearly review every October, so you will need to check their website for regular price changes.

Have other SSIP accreditation increase their annual fee.

There have been a number of increases including safe contractor and Constructionline, you can visit or blogs or the websites directly for the latest prices.

Im starting a new company what do i need?

Most accreditations are client led, you will normally be asked to have one in a tender form or a PQQ that you are filling in. You can look at getting one for yourself, there are number available to you and you would need to make a decision about the right one for your business.

Why do i need to pay an annual fee for assessment?

All accreditations are reviewed on an annual basis to ensure you are still compliant, the fee is to pay the assessor to review your submission.

My Constructionline has been suspended what do i do?

You will need to log in and see which items need updating. If you are not sure how to complete the outstanding items, then you can ask as consultant like ourselves to look into your account and provide assistance.

Is it cheaper to renew my CHAS?

The fee for CHAS renewal is the same as an existing application, both applications need to be assessed the same so there is no reduction in price.

How often do i need to update my information with CHAS?

CHAS is a yearly renewal for all documentation.

Why do i have to have a competent person?

It is a legal requirement to have a competent person and Health & Safety policy if you have more than 5 employees. CHAS and and other assessment bodies will not accept your application without this.

Im filling out a PQQ and they want to know if i have an SSIP certificate?

Please see below the questions we have been asked in June, every month we get asked something new that we share to keep you all informed.

1. Will CHAS come out and assess me?

You application is assessed remotely, all information is submitted to your allocated assessor for them to review.

2. Do i need to implement all the Health & Safety into my company or is it just a paper exercise?

Health & Safety is an important part of a successful company, it enables you to operate in a professional manner as well as ensuring you are operating safely for your employees and the general public.

3. How long does my accreditation last?

All the major Health & Safety accreditation last one year, this includes CHAS, Constructionline and Safe Contractor.

4. Do we get all method and risk assessments provided?

When providing documentation we will provide you with a template to show you the correct way for a job to be assessed and carried out. You will then need to make these job specific including any unique aspects for each job.

5. Do i get a policy with my CHAS documentation?

As part of the CHAS application if you have more than 5 employees you will need to supply a Health & Safety Policy. This is not part of the normal CHAS assistance we provide and an additional fee is incurred.

Do i need help to get my CHAS?

The best way to see if you need help is to register with CHAS and get access your online portal. This shows you the list of documents that you need to submit. If you don’t have them you know you need to get some help getting everything in place.

Can i get access to a CHAS questionnaire?

Everything is now online so there is no paper questionnaire telling you what you need to provide.

I want to complain about a CHAS member?

You would need to go to the CHAS website and contact them.

I need to be an SSIP member?

There are lots of accreditations associated with SSIP please see our blog for more information.
