A company is in court after faking their safety record
A wholesaler of meat based in North London has been prosecuted after attempting to deceive safety inspectors with positive safety inspections on a faulty fork lift truck.
Upon investigation, the HSE discovered that the fork lift truck had never been inspected, as required under the regulations for lifting equipment. A specialist subsequently examined the vehicle and found for than 40 faults, some of which could have potentially caused danger to its operator.
A prohibition notice was served on MIB United Meat Ltd and they had to pay over £20,000 in court costs and fines after breaching multiple regulations.
